WellHired's take
“Colive occupies a genuinely large and still-early-innings market - India's coliving sector is projected to grow roughly 5x by 2030 - and its recent $100M+ platform commitment with Bain Capital signals a shift from asset-light leasing toward owning and developing purpose-built coliving real estate directly. This means tech and product roles here sit at the intersection of consumer-facing product (the resident experience, community features) and genuinely large-scale real estate operations - a distinctive combination compared to most consumer tech companies.”
About Colive
Colive was founded in 2016 in Bengaluru by Suresh Rangarajan, building fully-furnished, professionally managed co-living homes for working professionals and students migrating to India's major cities. The platform has scaled from an initial few thousand beds to a much larger pan-India footprint, and in 2025 partnered with Bain Capital and Sattva Group on a $100M+ commitment to build a dedicated co-living real estate platform - acquiring land and developing purpose-built housing near major employment and education hubs, rather than only leasing and managing existing properties.
Become the future of urban living in India by making fully-managed, technology-enabled co-living homes accessible to every migrant professional and student.
