About the role
Anaqua is hiring a Senior Java Developer to take ownership of core backend services on RightHub - its distributed, domain-driven Java platform on Google Cloud Platform powering IP management for enterprises and law firms worldwide. This hands-on senior role covers owning services end-to-end, designing domain events, and setting the technical bar for engineers around you.
What you'll do
Own services end-to-end on a modern Java + Spring Boot platform - design, deployment, monitoring
Design domain events and integrations between services - event types, processors, idempotency
Extend shared platform libraries (auth, async tasks, common infrastructure) used company-wide
Drive performance and reliability work including query optimization and capacity planning
Raise the engineering bar through code review, technical design docs, and mentoring
What we're looking for
5 - 7+ years of relevant experience
5+ years of senior-level Java engineering with proven production ownership
Strong Spring Boot in production - transactional boundaries, connection pools, JVM tuning
Distributed-systems thinking - async messaging, idempotency, retries, eventual consistency
Contract-first API design with OpenAPI and deep PostgreSQL experience - schema design, indexing, migrations
Production experience running services on Kubernetes, with hands-on major public cloud experience (GCP preferred)
