About the role

PostHog is hiring an AI Research Engineer for its brand-new AI Research team, training its own Deep ML models to build a self-driving product. With petabytes of data across events, errors, session replays, and revenue data, you'll have real autonomy to research what's next and bring it into production, working close to customers on session replay analysis, user behavior prediction, and synthetic user testing.

What you'll do

Research what's next and what's better, and actually bring it into production

Improve session replay analysis with better models and DOM mutation data, making issue detection faster and cheaper

Work on user behavior prediction - identifying drop-offs and suggesting improvements automatically

Explore synthetic user testing, simulating users to catch confusing flows or breakages before release

This is a hybrid-remote position based out of PostHog's London office

What we're looking for

0++ years of relevant experience

A PhD is a plus, but a strong background in math is a must, or previous experience training models

Strong PyTorch experience

Strong ability to code in Rust, CUDA, or C, with a preference for Rust

Solid understanding of Transformers

A product mindset - you'll be building things, not just researching
