About Sarvam AI

Sarvam AI is an artificial intelligence company founded in August 2023 by Dr. Vivek Raghavan and Dr. Pratyush Kumar, headquartered in Bengaluru, focused on building large language models and voice-first AI systems for Indian languages. The founders previously led AI4Bharat at IIT Madras and brought deep experience from India's digital public infrastructure (Aadhaar) into building sovereign AI. Sarvam was selected by the Government of India to build the country's sovereign LLM under the IndiaAI Mission, and has raised funding from Lightspeed, Peak XV Partners, Khosla Ventures, and more recently Nvidia and Accel.
