About the role
Freshworks is hiring a Staff Full Stack Engineer (IC4) to architect end-to-end systems driving its global SaaS products, balancing distributed backend infrastructure with responsive, scalable frontend applications. You'll act as a technical compass across multiple engineering tracks, lead deep-dive code reviews, and pioneer AI tool integration (like GitHub Copilot) into daily development workflows.
What you'll do
Architect, build, and maintain scalable backend microservices and extensible REST APIs paired with modular frontend layers
Own the entire software development lifecycle - requirements gathering, data modeling, deployment, production support
Ensure systems are tuned for 99.99%+ availability, multi-tenant fault tolerance, and deep observability
Troubleshoot complex full-stack performance bottlenecks, from slow queries to state-management memory leaks
Lead architectural reviews, mentor 2-4 engineers, and drive SOLID design principles across the org
What we're looking for
10++ years of relevant experience
10+ years of progressive software engineering experience building and scaling full-stack applications in high-growth product teams
Expert-level grasp of Data Structures & Algorithms, complexity trade-offs, and Object-Oriented Design (SOLID)
Proven capability designing scalable, highly available, fault-tolerant multi-tenant systems - APIs, schemas, data models
Solid exposure to RDBMS, NoSQL, caching strategies, microservices, and distributed queuing systems
Hands-on experience with CI/CD automation and cloud infrastructure (AWS or GCP)
